PANAJI: A local court in Mapusa on Friday granted pastor Domnic D’Souza, who was arrested on Thursday for allegedly outraging religious feelings, conditional bail. His wife Joan has not been arrested, police said.
Mapusa police has registered a FIR under Section 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc, and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony), 295A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs), 506 (2) (criminal intimidation) read with 34 (common intention) IPC and Section 3 and 4 of the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisement) Act against the Siolim-based pastor.
