PANAJI: The India meteorological department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Goa for today owing to the impact of continued active monsoon.
The IMD has issued a warning for extremely heavy rainfall exceeding 20cms in 24 hours at one or two isolated places and the likelihood of very heavy rainfall in some places in Goa.
"With increased rainfall activity to continue, the areas vulnerable for landslide and flooding may be kept under monitoring. Water levels in rivers may be monitored and necessary precautions may kindly be taken," the Met department warned.
