Goa: Former deputy CM Ramkrishna Dhavalikar counters CM Pramod Sawant, says it’s BJP govt that is corrupt

PANAJI: Former deputy CM and senior MGP functionary Ramkrishna Dhavalikar on Saturday slammed CM Pramod Sawant for alleging that he was corrupt. In a counter-attack, Dhavalikar stated that the state BJP government was involved in corruption.

“BJP should first explain why party-affiliated persons approach ministers with suitcases,” Dhavalikar said. “I have the names of those involved in corruption, and I will disclose the names at the right time.”

On Friday, Sawant had attacked Dhavalikar as well as other ministers of the erstwhile Congress regime.

The Marcaim MLA warned the BJP core committee not to do “unnecessary things”. He said that nobody has made any allegations against him. “If any contractor makes allegations, then bring it before me; don’t make unnecessary allegations against me just because you are in government,” he said.

Meanwhile, Dhavalikar also dared Sawant to start mining within three months. He said that every CM has given assurances of starting mining. “I challenge the chief minister to start the 88 mining leases within three months. Whom are you trying to lie to? This time, the people will show you your place. We want to see how you start.”

Dhavalikar also said that an RTI application has been filed to find out how much illegal ore has been transported as part of the e-auction.

He also slammed the state government for not providing internet facilities to students who are facing hardships in online classes.

A day after Sawant said that Dhavalikar hadn’t done anything to improve water supply, Dhavalikar said that Sawant should ask his deputy chief minister, Chandrakant Kavalekar, what work he has done to improve water supply.
