Goa court issues summons to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal to appear on Wednesday

PANAJI: A court in Goa's Mapusa has issued summons to Aam Aadmi Party national convener and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal asking him to attend on Wednesday to answer charge with regard to violation of section 123 (1) of The Representation of the People Act and section 171B, 171 E of IPC.

"You are hereby required to attend this Court in person along with your pleader on 29/11/2023 at 10.00 am. Herein fail not," read the summons issued by Judicial Magistrate First Class 'A' Court Mapusa.

Goa AAP President Advocate Amit Palekar said the case is purely political. "This case is only meant to harass the party. I will represent Kejriwal on Wednesday and take steps to challenge this," he said.

"These summons have come all of a sudden. We don't find cases of electoral offences filed against the BJP president," he said.
