Go North East to run more buses on weekends as lockdown restrictions are eased

Go North East is set to increase weekend bus services.

Go North East said it will add extra servies to its weekend timetables in the North East from Saturday July 4.

The bus company says it is boosting weekend frequency as more shops, pubs and leisure businesses are due to reopen on July 4 for the first time since the coronavirus lockdown was implemented in March.

Go North East adds: "Weekday journeys will remain as they are now, with buses running to timetables that are similar to their pre-coronavirus times following changes on 1 June.

"Evening frequencies on services will remain reduced for now, as not all businesses will be open, but we’ll continue to monitor demand and look to reintroduce journeys when it increases.

Passengers can check online to see how many seats are left on each bus when they are preparing to travel by checking here online, where customers can also see which services are forecast to be quiet.
