Go North East bus services to start returning to normal as lockdown eases

Bus services operated by Go North East will start to return to normal next month when lockdown restrictions are eased.

The operator revealed that it will begin to start bringing back its full service from Monday, June 1 in line with the guidance from the Government.

A spokesperson for Go North East said: "From Monday, June 1, in line with guidance from the government, our buses will start returning to what can be considered our ‘normal’ level of service, with changes to some services.

"We have also worked hard to protect journeys introduced following customer feedback on key worker shift times at the start of the crisis."

Some services will return to timetables similar to pre-lockdown times on weekdays, although evening frequencies will be reduced during the evening as a result of the continued closure of leisure and entertainment venues.

Services on the weekend will also run to different timetables.

However, Go North East is still advising passengers to take precautions in line with Covid-19 guidance.

This includes only travelling if necessary, planning your journey to make it as direct as possible and maintaining social distancing while using services.

The timetable changes on June 1 can be viewed here.
