Adventurous families in Edinburgh and the Lothians have a summer of fun to look forward to after Go Ape revealed that construction is underway at their latest site near the capital.

Posting on their official Facebook page, the forest adventure firm revealed photos of the work taking place on the new centre and confirmed its set to open at Dalkeith Country Park.

They confirmed that this new Go Ape location (their 35th across the UK), which can be found at the park which is situated less than half an hour's drive from the centre of Edinburgh, will open this summer.

The post read: "Construction is well underway for Go Ape location number 35.

"Set in the stunning Dalkeith Country Park, one of the best bits about this new location will be multiple zip wires over the River Esk, we cannae wait."

Best of all, it'll also feature thrilling zip line rides across the River Esk.

The exciting new venture will be their fourth in Scotland joining Aberfoyle, Glentress Forest and Aberdeen.

The Suffolk-based firm has just confirmed that many of their parks across the UK are reopening and stated that they are a COVID secure organisation with trialled and tested additional measures in place.

They've added hand washing and sanitisation facilities to all of their sites and social distancing is designed into their operation to ensure everyone who visits is kept safe.
