GMB viewers spot 'tension' between Kate Garraway and Piers Morgan replacement Adil Ray

Under-fire Good Morning Britain host Adil Ray has hit back at criticism of his on-screen chemistry with Kate Garraway.

Adil has been co-presenting the ITV1 show each Monday to Wednesday after Piers Morgan's shock walk-out.

And the comedian had a pop at his detractors on social media after facing a barrage of criticism.

He wrote: "This week on Twitter I've been called a lefty liberal, a true Tory, a race baiter, anti English, too Muslim and not Muslim enough.

"Phew. Back on your box next Monday."

He added: "Thank you so much for giving us your time and watching. I am loving every minute."

It comes after one fan wrote: "Please can we not have Adil Ray on lov Kate but had to turn off because of Adil not the right man for this show."

"I don’t know if Adil thinks he is being funny “ bantering “ with Kate but it’s just getting beyond annoying now," said a second.

And a third wrote: "Had to turn off, Adil Ray is the most annoying presenter. Thought he was quite disrespectful to our Kate."

Another chipped in with:" God the interviewing is terrible, Kate and Adil like the sound of their own voice too much and won't let people talk. Absolutely awful get them both off."

"is there tension between our GMB presenters this morning ..?" another asked.

Another commented: "Adil is a disaster. He keeps undermining Kate. No chemistry with her or Susanna. It is not The Adil show."

And another said: “#GMB I am now turning over to the bbc breakfast as I can no longer stand listening to the row!”

“Oh dear! Adil Ray has been told to boost the ratings by pretending to be Piers Morgan! #GMB,” commented another.

But not everybody agreed.

"The atmosphere looks and sounds great in the studio today hope this means you finally put the week link @susannareid100 to one side, Kate, Charlotte & Adil," said one.

"You are doing a great job Adil!" said another.

"Loving you on @gmb you don’t shy away from the challenging questions but also bring humour to our mornings," commented a third.
