GMB viewers fume as Jos Buttler’s wife admits they're paying for a nanny to help during lockdown

Good Morning Britain viewers were not impressed with Jos Buttler and his wife’s admission they have hired a nanny who is helping out during lockdown.

The England cricketer and his wife Louise appeared on the ITV breakfast programme to speak about how she is helping him keep fit by doing pilates each day with him.

But the chat quickly turned sour with those watching the programme after Louise admitted they’d employed a nanny to help look after their baby.

When host Piers asked how they were coping self isolating with a youngster, pilates instructor Louise explained how they had been “very lucky” to employ a 21-year-old au pair called Erica to help out.

Jos also said he was exercising on a Peloton bike, which presenter Piers said he also has at home.

The home studio spin bikes cost around £2,000 upfront or £56 a month for three years.

Piers said: “I’ve also got a Peloton bike. They are great aren't they?”

Jos replied: “Yes it’s a great bit of kit. I have only had it for four or five days.”

Louise chipped in to say that Jos had “rearranged the whole kitchen” to accommodate the bike.

Viewers took to Twitter to air their frustration about the couple's revelations.

One said: “Peloton and Au Pairs, lifestyles of the rich and famous, nothing like keeping it real while thousands of people all over the country are losing their jobs eh?”

A second wrote: “Pelotons cost an initial 2 grand to start then continual monthly payments..must be nice to be able to afford that.”

A third fumed: “Perhaps the likes of @josbuttler should not appear on our screens and telling about their ‘struggle’ during #lockdown  that was a #pr nightmare.”

A fourth agreed: “Oh dear! The PR for @josbuttler was going really well until his wife brought the up fact they have a nanny so the wife can do Pilates. I mean good for you I but most of us don't and it sucks!”

Another mocked: “Thanks @piersmorgan & @gmb. People dying and losing their minds in isolation but let’s hear how great it an by for those like @josbuttler who can afford to have a live in au pair for this child. Pimms and Prosecco anyone?”

GMB airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
