GMB viewers demand Piers Morgan returns as Adil Ray called 'cringeworthy' over 'butt cheek' comments

Good Morning Britain viewers are calling for Piers Morgan to be reinstalled as a host of the ITV breakfast show.

It comes after Adil Ray was slammed by fans of the early morning show for being "cringeworthy" after he kept making comments about "butt cheeks" on Wednesday's programme.

As he and Ranvir Singh joined the show at 6.30am, Adil revealed that they would be talking to someone who can hold a coin between their butt cheeks.

However, he didn't mention it just once - and kept reminding Ranvir throughout the show, which left GMB viewers unimpressed.

In fact, some people were so annoyed that they admitted they were switching off from the ITV show.

Taking to Twitter, one person posted: "#gmb @gmb #clowns talking about what you stick between your butt cheeks @adilray."

Another viewer added: "Every morning I say to myself, 'I’ll just try it once more, maybe it’ll be a news programme instead of fragments interspersed with weather/competitions'.

"Today hit a new low - 10 mins on coins between your butt cheeks and gravy on your breakfast. That’s it, I’m off. #GMB."

A third viewer tweeted: "This Adil Ray is cringeworthy. ITV do the country a favor and get @piersmorgan back in! #GMB (sic)."

A fourth person penned: "Adil ‘it’s all about me’ Ray. No wonder they’re haemorrhaging viewers. #GMB @ITV."

Good Morning Britain has lost thousands of views since 56-year-old Piers quit the show on March 9, reports The Mirror.

The decline in GMB viewers comes after the ITV show beat BBC Breakfast for the first time in its history on Piers' last day last month.

Piers was known for being outspoken and grilling guests, but his comments about Meghan Markle and her interview with Oprah Winfrey sparked thousands of complaints to Ofcom.

ITV are yet to announce a replacement for Piers, but instead a variety of presenters have been hosting the show, including Adil, Ben Shephard and Alex Beresford.
