GMB viewers baffled by Joanna Lumley's 'naked man covered in Christmas lights'

Good Morning Britain viewers were utterly confused on Thursday morning's show when Joanna Lumley appeared via video call from her living room.

As Joanna, 74, chatted to hosts Alex Beresford and Charlotte Hawkins about her poetry reading of Twas The Night Before Christmas with Clarence House, fans were rather distracted by what was in the background.

Joanna had a very realistic statue in the living room which she had covered in festive fairy lights.

Alex immediately asked who was in the background, and Joanna explained it was a statue.

He began: "Joanna joins us live now, er, who is that in the background?"

Confused, Joanna replied: "My tree? Oh what, the statue?"

Alex laughed: "Oh! I thought it was a real person!"

"No no, it's a statue," giggled Joanna.

One viewer tweeted: "Is there any reason Joanna Lumley has a lit up Owen Wilson statue in her house? #GMB ".

"Just turned good morning Britain on and what is behind Joanna Lumley??? Is it a real person because it hasn’t moved once," wondered another.

"Who’s that behind Joanna Lumley with fairy lights on #goodmorningbritain," asked a third.

"Why she got a dummy sitting at the table for," remarked a fourth.

A fifth added: "What is this statue behind Joanna?? Looks like a Aztec or Mayan man?"

"Err I think Joanna Lumley’s house is haunted," added another.

Joanna revealed she would be getting the coronavirus vaccine as soon as she was able.

Offering her arm out, Joanna said: "I'd like to think they don't come to me quite yet, but obviously I am frightfully old, so they will come to me!

"I tend not to be ill, but I will do it at once," she added.

* Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV at 6am
