GMB's Susanna Reid left in tears by abuse from Piers Morgan trolls

Susanna Reid has revealed she's been in left in tears by trolls having a go at her about Piers Morgan.

Susanna, who has sat next to her outspoken co-host on Good Morning Britain for a number of years, told The Times: "I used to get a lot of targeted abuse because someone didn’t like what the person sitting next to me said."

She joked that things get easier when she presents the ITV daytime show with the generally more mild mannered Ben Shephard, adding: "Ben is much more like a warm hug, whereas Piers Morgan is like sitting next to a pincushion."

“We do fight like Punch and Judy, verbally. We’re sparring all the time."

Susanna's comments about abuse she's received from GMB viewers comes as some picked up on tension between her and Piers on Tuesday's show.

It stemmed as the two clashed over Harry and Meghan for the second day in succession, with her telling him: "You've got such a negative filter about them. You're obsessed with them."

One fan tweeted: "@susannareid100 literally looks like she wants to kill @piersmorgan," and picking up on the tweet, Piers told his 7.7 million followers: "It’s tense in here today."
