GMB’s Susanna Reid laughs at Gemma Collins as she reveals she's ‘signed record deal’

It’s April Fools mad today in TV land - and it seems to have started out on Good Morning Britain.

Viewers were not convinced when TOWIE star Gemma Collins announced she’d signed a deal with Universal records, adding that her first release would be a Christmas single.

It’s fair to say everyone thought this was an April Fool’s prank - and hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid were no different.

Gemma said: “I have teamed up with super producer Naughty Boy and I’m bringing out my first single this Christmas called Come Home.”

A surprised Piers asked whether she could sing, to which Gemma said: “I can sing Piers.”

When he asked her to demonstrate, she replied that she was “saving it for Christmas”.

But while it’s usually Piers who dishes out the digs, today it was his fairer counterpart who was having none of it as the Dancing On Ice star revealed her news.

"Does it exist?” She asked, before laughing.

Gemma looked upset when she was told they didn't have a clip of the track, before saying it wasn’t ready yet.

Unconvinced, Susanna then added: “Is it on Spotify?”

Gemma repeated that it was “top secret” but teased it would be worth the wait.

Chris Moyles played an April Fool joke on Phillip Schofield and lots of people believed it

Viewers were left just as unconvinced as the hosts about the claim, which is yet to have been confirmed or denied as a joke.

One tweeted: “I’m assuming Gemma Collins announcing on GMB that she’s signed a record deal was an April Fools too.”

A second said: “Gemma Collins has a record deal; I take it that is an April Fool joke??!”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
