GMB's Susanna Reid forced to apologise as Dizzee Rascal swears live on air

Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid was forced to apologise during an interview with MC and rapper Dizzee Rascal.

During the interview, co-presenter Piers Morgan asked the rapper about a banner flown above the Etihad Stadium reading "White Lives Matter Burnley" during Monday's match against Manchester City.

But Dizzee questioned why Piers was asking him about it, and asked whether he was the "official spokesman" for black people.

Piers said no, but as a "prominent" black man, he wanted to know what Dizzee's thoughts were and why "all lives matter" can be a detrimental message in the wake of the Black Lives Matter movement.

But Dizzee said he had not come on the show to discuss the Black Lives Matter movement.

Piers said he wanted to provide him a platform to share his thoughts, should he wish to - but Dizzee said he had a platform any time he wanted thanks to social media.

Piers accused Dizzee of reacting aggressively to a "normal" question.

Dizzee was unimpressed with this and referenced the "angry black man" stereotype.

Piers said: "Dizzee come on, that's ridiculous."

Piers added: "I think you're brilliant, let's not fall out."

Dizzee said they wouldn't fall out, but he thought it was very early in the morning to be discussing such an issue.

He added: "I'm going just p*** off both sides."

Susanna said: "When you mentioned it's early in the morning, that's one of things we can't say... apologies for that word."

The presenters and Dizzee laughed following the language blunder and Susanna added: "Oh Dizzee, I wish we were in Ibiza."

Viewers found the segment to be amusing and took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

Ann said: "I’m liking @DizzeeRascal on @GMB. Amusing, light hearted and not going to be manipulated for sound bites."

Another viewer commented: "I love @DizzeeRascal He’s intelligent and hilarious. #GMB a suitable guest for Piers Morgan".

Jamie said: "Well that escalated quickly. Dizzie Rascal dropping swear words at 9am."

Joseph added: " @piersmorgan just attempted to interrogate @DizzeeRascal and was instantly shot down! Thank god for @DizzeeRascal #gmb ".
