GMB's Susanna Reid corrects Ed Balls as he makes awkward blunder on ITV show

Susanna Reid corrected Ed Balls as he made an awkward blunder on Good Morning Britain today.

The former politician turned presenter was left red-faced when his co-star corrected him as he made a slip up whilst presenting the ITV1 show this morning. The pair laughed at the error before the show headed to a break ahead of an interview with Anne Reid.

Following an interview with actress Anne-Marie Duff about her relative's dementia diagnosis, talk soon turned to the presenting duo's next interviewee Anne Reid as they showed the legendary actress in the studio ready to chat about her new play.

"Still to come, acting legend Anne Reid is here and as she goes back on stage with a new play, where robots replace lost loved ones. It's set forty years in the future and we'll be talking to hear about that and her more than 60 years on screen very shortly," he said.

He then added: "It's 6.46am, you're watching Good Morning Britain on ITV1," before Susanna interrupted and shouted, "it's 8.46, it's 8.46, you haven't got two hours to get to work!" as they both laughed at the error as the show went to the break.

It was a special show for Susanna today, as she marked two decades in breakfast television. Susanna joined BBC Breakfast in 2003, where she presented at the weekend alongside the likes of Charlie Stayt and the late Bill Turnbull. She departed the BBC in 2014 and headed over to Good Morning Britain, which she has been at the helm of with several different male presenters.

Susanna previously spoke of her close friendship with all the men she has worked with.

"There's my good friend Rob Rinder, I'm normally out in Ibiza with him. There's Ed Balls, who we know of course. Alistair Campbell aswell," she said, "Richard Madeley, Adil Ray, Bill Turnbull, Richard Bacon, Martin Lewis. Where does it stop?

"Whoever is on screen, the relationship has to work and so they are all talented in their own ways and they've all got a wealth of unique experience to bring to the programme and again it's a privilege working with them all," she said.

The rotation of presenters came about due to Piers Morgan's exit.

"It’s been talked about as a super-group of presenters with different personalities, styles and opinions," the insider told The Mirror at the time, "Each brings something fresh to the table and Susanna is the perfect co-host in bringing out their respective qualities."
