GMB's Susanna Reid becomes emotional over Bill Turnbull loss as she marks major milestone

Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid marked a major milestone during the episode that aired on Wednesday, March 22. The host was celebrated as she reached 20 years of presenting breakfast television.

The GMB studio marked the occasion with a highlights clip, showing Susanna presenting over the years with the late Bill Turnbull, Piers Morgan, Richard Madeley, and Ben Shephard, among others. It also featured Susanna covering the Oscars in Hollywood, reporting live from UK, interviewing Boris Johnson, and announcing the Queen had died.

Reflecting on her time on television, Susanna said to her co-host Ed Balls: "As I look back at that 20 years in breakfast tele, I'd just like to say thanks to everybody else who has been involved in the journey along the way. For more TV and celebrity news sign up to our newsletter here

"I see all the individuals I've sat next to along the way, you don't do this alone in breakfast tele, so it's fantastic to have you here... obviously it's very emotional to see Bill because we've lost him and that remains very painful and he taught me everything I know about presenting."

Later in the show Susanna took a look back at her journey, waking up at 3:45am most morning, and those she's presented with along the way. She said: "I started with Bill Turnbull, and it is really a shame not to be able to celebrate with Bill. I'd love to be able to text him this morning and talk to him about that. He was absolutely brilliant, but luckily I am surrounded by other brilliant people and so thank you very much for being with me on the journey."

She continued: "Obviously, a massive thanks to Ben, who is not here this morning but we started Good Morning Britain together along with you Charlotte of course and Sean as well."

Susanna then thanked Piers Morgan, who she hosted alongside until he sensationally quit after walking out of the studio in March 2021. She said: ""And just a huge thank you to Piers Morgan of this parish, five years alongside him. He made me bolder, more argumentative, more difficult I think, more probing, asking the tricky questions and going into battle every morning.

"Slightly different since then but definitely a big thank you to everyone I've presented with over 20 years. Getting up at 3.45 and I'm still here."
