GMB's Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan in awkward 'sex ban' plan

Good Morning Britain presenters Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan got into an awkward exchange regarding the government's latest law.

A proposed new law will make it illegal to have sex with someone from outside your own household, according to the government's latest lockdown rules.

But 49-year-old Susanna was unimpressed with the new law.

She said: "The government is literally criminalising people's, up until now, perfectly legal private life."

Piers added: "Some of it is so stupid."

The presenters then discussed a plan to avoid the "sex ban", with Piers putting his co-host on the spot.

Piers said: "What you need to do, it seems to me, Susanna's come up with this theory to end her own sex ban."

Susanna looked surprised and said: "What are you talking about?"

Piers said: "You need to fly to a country where there isn't a sex ban, right?"

Susanna turned to her co-host and asked: "Is that what you're suggesting?"

But Piers said: "That's what you suggested in the break - why are you pretending otherwise?"

Susanna said: "I don't know what you're talking about."

Piers laughed and continued, putting on a high pitch voice and adding: "Me, talk about sex? I'm the headmistress, I don't do things like that."

Susanna didn't respond and instead asked viewers who use dating apps to get in touch and tell them whether they're still using such apps.

Later, Susanna said the proposed law was because the government wanted to maintain social distancing guidance whereby people who didn't live together had to remain two metres apart from one another, with the host adding: "Ergo, a sex ban."
