GMB's Susanna Reid accuses Boris Johnson of being absent as pandemic continues

Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid this morning questioned where the Prime Minister is, saying "we haven't seen him" while the coronavirus battle rages on.

The 49-year-old asked the show's guests: "Where is Boris Johnson?"

The presenter said the Prime Minister has been relatively absent as the global pandemic continues.

Guest Andrew Pierce said Boris Johnson had suffered "a very serious dose of coronavirus so he's probably not 100%".

Co-host Piers Morgan added: "The fact that he's not visible, not centre stage means we are now reliant on other ministers."

He said the government's "refusal to admit any mistakes is really damaging".

Guest Kevin Maguire said the reason the Prime Minister had been absent from press briefings was because when he was "asked to explain decisions" that are then proved to be "clearly wrong" he "tries to bluster and lie".

Guests accepted the "fatigue" associated with the deadly virus, as Susanna added the Prime Minister also has a new baby to contend with.

Piers Morgan said: "Be honest with the public, if he's ill or feeling rough, be honest with the public."

He added: "They'll understand."
