GMB's Sean Fletcher shares heartbreak over death of family dog and admits he cried

Good Morning Britain star Sean Fletcher has shared his heartbreak over the tragic loss of his family dog.

The 47-year-old presenter announced the sudden death of beloved Mimi on Monday, who passed away 10 days ago after a devastating battle with cancer.

Sean admitted the loss of Mimi, who had been a member of the family for 10 years, has left a "large hole".

The TV star also told fans how he broke down in tears and couldn't stop crying after losing their furry companion.

"I didn't realise how large a hole in my family losing our poor dog Mimi would create," he shared on Instagram.

Sean posted some snaps of Mimi running around the garden, as well as some snaps of himself posing with his best friend.

He continued: "We had to say goodbye to her 10 days ago because her cancer was clearly causing her a huge amount of pain, despite high doses of painkillers."

Recalling the emotional moment, Sean said: "As we walked away from the vet we cried and we cried. We cried so much I’m not sure when we stopped. I didn’t realise it’d affect us like that."

The GMB favourite went on to add that Mimi was "incredibly loyal" and was often around for the big moments in his life, including helping him train for four marathons.

He added: "She was cwitchie (Welsh for cuddly). She was beautiful. She was a hoover when we dropped food on the floor.

"She inspired my wife and I to go out for regular long walks together - crucial marriage time for us. She was funny, and her back roll stole the show on a @bbccountryfile I presented last year. And that's just a small part of what she gave to us."

"So it was heartbreaking to watch her deteriorate with cancer," the emotional presenter concluded. "We'll miss her a lot."

Sean's fans were left heartbroken for the star, with many fans and also celebrity friends commenting underneath his post.

"Oh no, so sorry Sean," his co-star Charlotte Hawkins wrote.

Another shared: "Dogs are the best of the best. Treasure the memories."

And a third added: "So v sorry for your loss Sean. I know exactly what you’re going thru - all dog lovers do. It’s the v worst part of having pets - the hole they leave in your heart and daily life & routine. BUT your life is most definitely richer for the memories they’ll leave. Dogs are q simply the best!!"
