GMB's Richard Arnold left sobbing on air over 'heartbreaking' Lewis Capaldi video

Good Morning Britain host Richard Arnold was left sobbing on the ITV show on Wednesday, as a "heartbreaking" video left him emotional.

The showbiz segment host couldn't contain the tears thanks to singer Lewis Capaldi and his latest music video, which is both heartwarming and emotional.

In April, the 26-year-old singer shared the video for his latest single Wish You the Best, featuring a postman named John, played by Harry Potter star David Bradley, and his adorable dog Willow.

In the clip we see the pair's sweet bond and the love they share for one another, in moving scenes.

However, later in the video, John sadly passes away leaving his beloved companion Willow heartbroken as she mourns the loss of her companion at his graveside.

But Willow soon finds a new home with a younger postman, who takes her in until she passes away and is reunited with John.

The story has left fans around the world sobbing and calling it "the saddest video ever", and on Wednesday host Richard fell victim to the emotional scenes.

Admitting he had already watched it and had cried a lot, he was once against sobbing live on air after seeing it once more.

Trying to contain his emotions, he went very quiet and teary-eyed as the clip finished, before he confessed to finding it "heartbreaking".

Before watching the clip again, he had said: "Oh Susanna, mate, any pet lover..." hinting he'd shed tears over it.

As the sad clip came to an end the cameras panned back to hosts Susanna Reid and Martin Lewis, it was clear Richard was having a cry.

Richard replied: "It's heartbreaking, heartbreaking isn't it. Heartbreaking. I think it's just beautiful."

He wasn't the only one left sobbing though, along with the huge amount of TikTok users who have shared videos of themselves crying on the social media platform.

Several GMB viewers admitted they too were left in tears after the show played the clip for them.

Taking to Twitter, many fans confessed they gave it a watch only to be left in floods of tears over the emotional tale.

One viewer tweeted: "Curiosity got to me and had to watch @LewisCapaldi new video.... That man made me cry!"

Another viewer said: "If the Saddest music video is gonna involve some sort of pet, than it is naturally gonna be sad! Now my eyes are drenched. what I needed to start the day," as a third added: "That is one sad video."
