GMB's Richard Arnold admits his beloved dog has gained half a kilo in lockdown

Richard Arnold finally returned to the Good Morning Britain studio today for the first time since the UK went into lockdown in March.

However, Richard confessed that his beloved dog may have been enjoying lockdown a little too much after gaining half a kilo in weight.

Announcing his return, host Ranvir Singh said: "Richard Arnold us with us this morning. You've been confined in your shed haven't you, my darling? And now you're here."

GMB then aired a video of Richard wearing a kimono as his dog leaped up at him.

Richard exclaimed: "Back in the studio?"

He then spun around and 'magically' appeared in the studio in his suit.

"Where's the dog?" he queried. "Where's the dog? Where's Clemmie?"

Richard appeared to lose his dog as he returned to the studio (ITV)

"Where's the kimono?" Ben shouted out.

"My gaping kimono," Richard joked. "But seriously, where's Clemmie? Was she transported to This Morning or something?"

"She'll be somewhere," Ben said. "She'll be with the Loose Women."

He revealed that his dog Clemmie had gained half a kilo (ITV)

"It's quite an effort transporting Clemmie at the moment because she has unfortunately she has gained about half a kilo."

Ben exclaimed: "Has she?!"

Richard joked: "Yeah, the good thing is that the vet is gone - fired! No one fat shames my dog!"
