GMB's Ranvir Singh calls leak about Harry's talks with royal family 'mean-spirited'

Ranvir Singh has branded leaked information about a conversation between the royal family as "mean-spirited".

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly had "unproductive" talks with Prince Charles following their bombshell Oprah interview last week.

Gayle King, a friend of the Duchess of Sussex, revealed the details on CBS breakfast show The Morning.

She said on the programme: "Well, I'm not trying to break news, but I did actually call them to see how they are feeling and it's true, Harry has talked to his brother and he has talked to his father, too.

"The word I was given was, those conversations were not productive. But they are glad they at least started a conversation."

This was then discussed by Ranvir, Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard on Wednesday morning's Good Morning Britain.

Ranvir said: "Telling a very prominent TV presenter who you know is going to go on TV and talk about it.

"What is the gain for Harry and Meghan in allowing that information out?

"It is seems little bit mean spirited, you’ve had your moment, you’ve had your two hours on television where you said everything you wanted to say, and everything left on the cutting room floor.

"What is the point of it at this point, releasing little titbits, are we expecting to hear every little phone call that happens?"

Ben responded: "Unless it’s to keep it out there - to keep the conversation viable so that they keep happening."

Susanna then added: "The fact of the matter is it’s going to make it harder now because any conversation with any member of the Royal Family they are going to worry its going to be made public."
