GMB's Piers Morgan warns we must miss Christmas due to COVID amid second lockdown

Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan has warned the nation may miss Christmas this year due to the pandemic.

Amid rumours of a second lockdown being implemented, Piers said we must act stoically and not complain if the virus affects Christmas this year.

"This is our war," he said, as he called for the national unity and understanding he witnessed when the pandemic first began in March.

Piers also insisted the pubic should not underestimate COVID-19 or forget the chaos that ensued during the initial peak earlier this year.

"The virus does not understand the rule of six," said Piers, alluding to the government rule that groups larger than six must not mingle.

"The virus won't take a day off on Christmas day," he added.

Meanwhile, his co host Susanna Reid slammed the mixed messaging from the government and the "blaming" of young people amid the sharp rise in coronavirus cases.

She pointed out that Boris Johnson urged people to eat out, even offering discounts to encourage them to do so.

We were also told to go back into offices and schools, but were then criticised by Health Secretary Matt Hancock for not staying in our homes, said Susanna.

Piers also said it was unfair that a group of six little children could not go and feed some ducks in a park, but a group of 30 people could go out and shoot grouse.

And Susanna said the messaging over whether we should tell the police if someone is breaking the rules, has been confusing.

Home Secretary Priti Patel had said she would tell on her neighbours if she saw them mingling in groups larger than six, and this sentiment was echoed by Matt Hancock.

But when Boris Johnson was asked the same thing, he said he was not a fan of "sneak culture".

Susanna questioned which was the message we were supposed to listen to.
