GMB's Piers Morgan told to 'have a lie down' after angry tirade at camera operator

Good Morning Britain 's Piers Morgan was ordered by co host Susanna Reid to "go and have a lie down" after his tirade at a camera operator.

Grumpy Piers moaned as the producers staged a particular shot while knelt in front of him, demanding an explanation.

His rant led to Susanna asking him if he wanted to take the day off tomorrow as he was clearly in such a bad mood.

Introducing the next segment before the show cut to a break, Piers began: "Still to come... What am I looking at? Which camera? There's a million cameras, what is going on here?"

He looked baffled as Susanna explained to him: "Whichever one you're looking at is the right one."

His producer could be heard telling him: "The one with the red light on it."

Piers moaned: "Well what's this one doing here? I don't want an into break shot, go away! So weird!"

Susanna remarked: "You're talking to that person in your ear again, Piers, and no one else knows what you're talking about."

Piers cried: "Just do it the way we've always done it!"

"Catherine is doing a shot into the break!" replied the producer.

Piers ranted: "There is somebody on her knees pointing some weird extra camera straight at my head for the first time ever, they've never done this before!"

Shocked, Susanna asked pointedly: "Do you want to take tomorrow off by any chance?"

The camera then panned to a shot of the operator, who was kneeling in front of Piers and Susanna, before standing and pulling the camera away.

"What are you doing down there Catherine, why? No one has ever done this before!" exclaimed Piers, taking a photograph of her.

Susanna defended her: "She is doing a professional job of filming the show!'"

She continued: "You are watching Good Morning Britain on ITV, and Piers needs to go for a lie down."
