GMB's Piers Morgan receives 264 Ofcom complaints for making fun of Boris Johnson

Piers Morgan is no stranger to complaints - but he has surpassed himself with the latest reason for irking the nation.

The Good Morning Britain host has attracted 397 criticisms from viewers in one week, according to Ofcom.

And 264 of them were for one of his trademark rants - this time Boris Johnson was at the receiving end of his assessment.

Piers, 55, targeted the prime minister not for the way he runs the country (not this time, anyway) - but for his hair style.

The motormouth presenter made a quip about his looks - comparing him to a well known children’s story character.

He asked: "What is going on with the Prime Minister's hair?

"I know it may seem very trivial, but the rest of us, our wives, our partners, people we're with, have bothered to get the old scissors out and give us a little trim.

"Having the prime minister coming out like Worzel Gummidge... I was told by 'sources close to the Prime Minister' last night that he hasn't seen a barber since early March.

"He has really fine hair and using a brush doesn't really tame it. It's not disrespectful, it's because hair dressers aren't open until July.

"But someone in that house must be able to trim it, Carrie? Carrie Symonds, can she do it?"

His co-host Susanna Reid pointed out that pregnant Carrie is perhaps a “little distracted” with other things at the moment to worry about her fiancé’s hair.

The complaints were in relation to Piers’ comments made on Tuesday, June 9.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
