GMB's Dr Sarah Jarvis warns coronavirus rates are going up in local lockdown areas

Dr Sarah Jarvis gave a stark warning about coronavirus rates going up in the UK.

As of midnight last night, new rules have been imposed on Greater Manchester, West Yorkshire and East Lancashire as different households cannot meet indoors from Friday.

It's 4.5million British people who have been affected by the new lockdown rules.

Good Morning Britain's expert GP, 57, announced the infection rates are even double other areas in the UK during Friday's instalment of the breakfast show.

The TV medic urged people to be alert as infection rates were "going up" in these areas.

She said: "It must be such a challenge. I woke up to this this morning. Because of this huge group of people affected. Bradford nearly half a million.

"Not only are infection rates in many of those areas, they are twice in some parts of country. They're going up."

Dr. Jarvis said she "felt for the government" to deliver the tough news to Brits in certain parts of the country.
