GMB’s Dr Hilary on Gogglebox reaction to dig at Bath pub owner - 'I did have a cheeky look'

Good Morning Britain’s Dr Hilary has spoken out after he appeared on Gogglebox following a clash with a Bath pub owner who told Sir Keir Starmer to get out of his pub.

Mr Humphris, who made clear the Labour leader was not welcome in his pub claiming Starmer has done little to challenge the government’s lockdown policies, appeared on Good Morning Britain last week.

In an interview with GMB presenters Susanna Reid and Adil Ray, Mr Humphris attempted to explain his reasons for being so angry at the Labour party.

But it soon became clear the hosts, and Dr Hilary, who was also on the ITV news programme, were not impressed by what he was saying.

"I think with the greatest respect Rod, I think you should stick to pulling pints rather than advising the government about policy on the biggest pandemic, public health issue for the last 100 years," Dr Hilary hit out.

"If we ignore a pandemic and we say lockdown doesn't work, how do you think this spreads in the first place? It's very simple, you have to have lockdown in a pandemic that kills people."

The clip of Dr Hilary’s response was shown to Goggleboxers on Friday night, who reacted hilariously.

Pete and Sophie Sandiford jumped out of their seats shouting "Ohhhhhh!"

While Marcus said to Mica: “Rod can’t really argue with that.”

Mica replied: “Exactly and he shouldn’t, everybody loves a cheeky lockdown!”

This morning (April 26) on Good Morning Britain, Dr Hilary reacted to the Goggleboxers reaction to the clash.

“When you texted me, I did have a cheeky look,” said Dr Hilary after the clip was shown.

“Good on the Gogglebox guys, right on it,” said Adil Ray.

It came after Dr Hilary gave a lockdown warning to viewers of the ITV show, saying complacency had led to a 'tragedy of massive proportions' in India.
