Speaking about the current restrictions in England, Susanna said to Dr Hilary: "We know the rules on wearing masks indoors are starting to loosen up, we don't have to wear a mask anymore inside, but surely in a clinical setting and in a hospital?"

"Thank you, yes absolutely," Dr Hilary responded. "He should have been wearing a mask."

ITV's resident doctor continued: "He should be setting an example, especially in a hospital where today's headlines scream '11,600 people caught Covid in a hospital'."

"Do I detect an angry tone?" Susanna asked. "You sound furious."

"Well it's ridiculous," Susanna's co-star added. "And nobody had the guts to say 'Prime Minister put a mask on or you can't come in'.

"That's what should have happened."

Good Morning Britain weekdays from 6am on ITV and ITV Hub.
