GMB's Charlotte Hawkins leaves Ben Shephard lost for words with question on live TV

Ben Shephard was left lost for words on Friday, October 7 on Good Morning Britain after not listening to his co-star Charlotte Hawkins. The awkward exchange came after Charlotte read the news headlines and then posed a question to Ben, who was caught off guard live on television.

Charlotte spoke to ITV correspondent Nick ahead of the England Women vs USA game which is set to take place at Wembley tonight. Wrapping up the interview, Charlotte said: "Nick, thanks very much, yes, let's hope that home crowd can give them the edge. Go on the Lionesses, they can do it!"

As the camera returned to the studio, Charlotte asked her co-host: "What do you reckon Ben?". But Ben was miles away and was forced to admit he hadn't been listening to the link.

"Sorry Charlotte, I was just talking to the producer in my ear," Ben explained.

She added: "The Lionesses? You are completely distracted. And it was football as well I was talking about!"

"About the Lionesses going to smash the Americans?" Ben asked, before adding: "Very excited. We interviewed Ellen White, Kammy and I on the podcast the other day, who, of course, was one of the heroes of the Lionesses in the summer.
