GMB's Ben Shephard speaks out over rumours he is Badger on The Masked Singer

Good Morning Britain 's Ben Shephard has responded to the rumours he is currently starring on The Masked Singer as the Badger.

Speaking to Lorraine Kelly, Ben dodged the question and refused to confirm or deny after many fans were left convinced he was the Badger.

"There are rumours though, Ben, that you are Badger," said Lorraine.

"A lot of people have been saying that online. Can you reveal or not?"

Ben simply replied: "Tell me about the Badger, what are his traits?"

Lorraine joked: "He's very, very, very good looking underneath that and he's got a calendar and a blanket."

Ben refused to confirm or deny, but he does fit some of the clues (ITV)

Kate remarked: "He's a very good singer and dancer so that counts Ben out, doesn't it?"

Ben added: "I can neither confirm nor deny that I am or am not the Badger, I am a fan of badgers as things go.

"Who doesn't love a badger?"

The Badger said on the show as one of his clues that he is usually found up early in the morning, which may be what led GMB viewers to believe it was the host.

Ben has been heavily rumoured to be the Badger (ITV)

But other clues include the fact no one would likely recognise Badger despite him being famous, he writes poems, and was very shy as a child.

Badger revealed: "There's been times I could have been on the street surrounded by people but no one would have any idea it's me."

Ben also drove fans wild on Friday's show when Kate flicked through his hunky 2021 calendar.

She complained: "In October they have missed a trick because that's you in gold hot pants but they have cut them off."

Ben replied: "Discretion is obviously paramount there."

Holding up November's offering, Kate said: "And that's the mum's favourite, look at him, sensible parting and a lovely jumper, and then we get to December and this just makes me laugh so much.

"They have put a robin and a hat on you, and you appear to be nude! What's going on, is that the Christmas treat for people everywhere?"

Ben laughed: "That is what is under the mistletoe for Christmas, Kate."
