GMB's Ben Shephard reveals he appeared in Friends episode and 'scared' cast member

Ben Shephard surprised his Good Morning Britain co-hosts on Friday, as he revealed he made a cameo in the hit series Friends.

As they dissected Friends: The Reunion on the show, Ben quickly confirmed he appeared in an episode.

GMB's Ben talked of the cameo role as the show played a clip of his scene, with him joking he "scared" a cast member with his antics.

It happened many moons ago in 2002, with him featuring briefly in the episode where Joey attended his big movie premiere with Chandler.

In an uncredited role titled Man with Microphone, Ben is seen on the red carpet with other extras playing reporters and paparazzi.

He was under guidance not to reach out too far to the cast, which everyone followed except for Ben.

Lunging out with his microphone to interview actor Joey, played by Matt LeBlanc, he's seen trying to get the gossip before Joey waves and walks on.

But the hilarious moment appears to catch him and Chandler actor Matthew Perry off guard, with Ben joking that he seemed to scare Matt or both of them.

Speaking to co-host Kate Garraway, Ben made the surprise admission he was in an episode before the clip was played for viewers at home to see.

Not believing him, Kate asked: "Are you sure it's real, were you ever in there?"

As the clip was played on air, Ben detailed: "Right there look, there's me on the red carpet. That's an old GMTV flag.

"Look how scared he looks by the way!"

Kate gasped loudly, before telling him: "Look at you!"

Ben then confessed that he realised it was a once in a lifetime opportunity, so he went for it with his limited role.

While all the other reporters stayed back, Ben revealed he leant forward to get in the shot but wasn't allowed to face the camera.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
