GMB's Andi Peters slams Alex Beresford for not contacting him while he was ill with shingles

Andi Peters finally returned to Good Morning today after suffering from shingles - but hit out at his co-star Alex Beresford for not contacting him while he was ill.

The 49-year-old presenter was off sick for the first time in 20 years after contracting the nerve infection.

Returning to the studio, before announcing the prize competition he thanked everyone who had got in touch to wish him well.

He said: "I am back, it's so good to be back. Thank you very much to everybody who got in touch to wish me well wishes.

"Do you know what? Everyone in the studio on our awesome presenting team got in touch with me.

"Susanna sent me some texts wishing me well, thank you Susanna. Ranvir even sent me some fruit - Ranvir, I love you, thank you so much.

"Alex... didn't send me anything, not even a text."

The weather presenter was then seen shifting on his feet as he looked awkwardly into the camera.

Andi added: "Forget it, don't care."

As Alex nervously laughed, Andi announced that Piers actually got in touch.

"So the question is - what did Piers say? Did Piers say 'Andi, I almost missed you', did he say 'Andi, I never missed you' or did he say 'Andi, never come back'?"

Piers quipped: 'Or did he say, 'If you die, can I have your slippers?'"

*Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV
