Alex Beresford is said to be keen to carve out a television career in America following his on air spat with Piers Morgan last week.
The Good Morning Britain star has found himself very much in the limelight after calling out 55-year-old Piers on the ITV breakfast show last Tuesday.
Outspoken Piers ended up storming off the set after Alex challenged his comments about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry following their explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey.
The clip has since gone viral and 40-year-old Alex has found himself being written about in various US publications.
According to reports, Alex has already received multiple lucrative offers from American news shows and major radio opportunities.
The Sun alleged that there’s even a book deal on the table for the father-of-one, too.
A source told the publication: "He sees this as his chance to be a global star - he was featured on the Wendy Williams show and has featured extensively in the New York Times and LA Times.
"Alex has been so overwhelmed by the support he had to have a few days off work and he’s currently exploring all of his options."
It's even been claimed that Oprah herself has reached out to Bristol-born Alex.
The source continued: "Alex has been inundated with messages of support from A-list stars close to Meghan including Beyoncé’s mum Tina who has been messaging him and even Oprah has reached out by following him on Twitter.
"He has since told his agent Jonathan Shalit he wants to crack America, and is adamant he won’t be on breakfast TV or be the weatherman on GMB for the rest of his life.
"He’s had loads of celebs, call to congratulate him, and there have been A-listers who’ve even reached out which is really flattering."
Alex has presented the national ITV Weather since November 2007, and has been standing in for weather presenter Laura Tobin on GMB since it launched in 2014.
In August 2020, he made his debut as a guest presenter of the popular ITV show and occasionally sits alongside the likes of Susanna Reid, Kate Garraway and Charlotte Hawkins.
Since his feud with Piers, GMB fans have called for him to replace him permanently - but it seems that Alex may have bigger plans for himself.
