GMB's Alex Beresford returns for first time since Piers Morgan exit - and beatboxes through a weather report

This is the moment Good Morning Britain’s Alex Beresford returned to our screens for the first time since Piers Morgan’s dramatic exit.

The last time the weather presenter made an appearance on the ITV show was last Tuesday (9th March), when he was involved in a row with Piers about Meghan Markle.

Alex said he had to speak out about Piers’ comments that he ‘didn’t believe a word’ the Duchess of Sussex said when she discussed having suicidal thoughts and made allegations of racist comments towards her son Archie.

It led to Piers walking off the show before leaving as a host that same day, after more than 41,000 people complained to regulator Ofcom.

GMB's was involved in a spat with Piers Morgan (ITV)

Piers doubled down on his comments the day after - and said he wished Alex "good luck."

Today (19th March), Alex was back on the show for the first time.

There was no mention of the argument as he started his weather report, instead going straight into the details: "Hello, a very good morning to you. As we head through the next few days, high pressure will stay very much in control,” he said.

Later in the show, after a viral video of a beatboxer was played out, co-host Charlotte Hawkins challenged Alex to do a beatbox performance during another one of his forecasts.

“I think Alex you should beatbox the weather or at least make an effort to, come on,” she said.

“You can do it!”

Seemingly in good spirit, Alex treated viewers to a short beatbox before telling them how the weather was going to look that day.

“I mean I can’t work out what on earth was going on there,” he laughed.

“If you can make that out, you’re better than me!”

Viewers took to social media to welcome Alex back to the show.

“Great to see Alex back in action after that unfortunate incident,” one person posted on Twitter.

“Well done Alex ,great beatbox talent,” posted another.

While a third said: “Wellcome Alex great to see you back , Love GMB again now.”

ITV is broadcast every weekday morning from 6am.
