GMB's Alex Beresford ends Line of Duty boycott - let the bingeing begin

He's refused to watch this year's biggest TV drama for the last six weeks, but now Alex Beresford is hopefully finding out what the rest of the UK knows – this series of Line of Duty is a classic.

The Good Morning Britain weather presenter had avoided the latest series of Jed Mercurio’s BBC police drama as he is not a fan of episodes dropping weekly.

The 40-year-old said earlier this month: “Trying to avoid all things line of duty so I can binge watch it all. This weekly thing I don’t have the patience for!”

And now, it seems as if his boycott is over as he has dived in to catch up on the six broadcast episodes, five days before the series ends on Sunday.

He tweeted last night: “Just finished episode 1 of #LineofDuty6. Let the binging begin."

The latest series of the anti police corruption drama has seen record figures for the BBC as the nation collectively settles down for thrills, tension, twists and turns on Sunday nights at 9pm on BBC One.

Avoiding spoilers must have been a huge challenge for the Bristol presenter as social media and news websites are packed with speculation and reaction to the series - who is 'H', will Kate survive, what's with Steve's waistcoats, and when will we next get a 'Mother of God' from Ted Hastings?

Many people tweeted Alex to say that he was going to be in for a treat - especially with those cliffhangers in episodes four and five.

You can see the finale on BBC One at 9pm on BBC One and catch up on previous episodes, and series, on iPlayer.
