GMB's Alastair Campbell awkwardly called out by Judge Rinder for blanking him

Judge Robert Rinder has awkwardly called out Alastair Campbell during a chat on Good Morning Britain for blanking him at the pool.

The TV judge appeared on the ITV breakfast show and was interviewed by Alastair and co-host Susanna Reid about his show, Judge Rinder's Crime Stories.

At the start of the interview, however, Alastair asked whether he should call Judge Rinder “My Lord” after previous experience during a libel case in court.

In response, Judge Rinder called out Alastair for not responding to him when he saw him on his cold swim in the mornings.

Judge Rinder said: “Well, I actually see you from time to time, Alastair, having a cold swim in the morning and I wave at you and you give me your undivided indifference and Ummm…just Rob.”

Alastair then admitted that he can’t wear his glasses in the water and resultantly ignores people.

Judge Rinder added: “Literally, I’m there at the same time, in my costume, ‘Hello Alastair!’, nothing.”

“I feel bad, my lord,” commented Alastair.

Alastair later asked: “Have we seen each other in the showers and not said hello?”

“No, no, no, that’s taking it to a whole other conversation,” commented Judge Rinder.

However, the conversation turned more playful when Judge Rinder discussed Alastair’s physique which he sees at the Lido swimming pool.

“You could cut cheese off of your abs,” comments Judge Rinder, telling Alastair he should go on Strictly Come Dancing as he could make it to Week Four on those alone.

He added: “It’s like a Chris du Burgh concert when you’re around. There are women they start going slow…”

Susanna had her head in her hands as the conversation turned to Alastair’s abs and was laughing at her friend Robert's comments.

Judge Rinder added: “It’s the most imperious thing, it’s like an aquatic version of Margaret Thatcher. Doesn’t notice anything.”

The judge later called out a photo showed of Alastair, saying: “That’s a terrible picture, you look like you’re in Last of the Summer Wine.”
