Good Morning Britain host Adil Ray has been championed by viewers of the show for his handling of a 'slippery' MP on Monday's show, with some calling for him to be a permanent fixture alongside Susanna Reid.
Lingo host Adil was back at the helm of GMB at the start of a new week to join co-star Susanna to talk about everything from Prince Philip's funeral to Sunday's Line of Duty, with colleague Charlotte Hawkins annoyed at the episode being spoiled for her before she'd had a chance to watch it.
Another big talking point on Monday was plans for a new European Super League for football, with it being reported that the Premier League's Big Six clubs - Man City, Man United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs - have agreed to join the breakaway competition.
They are set to be joined by three clubs from Italy and three from Spain, with other sides also tipped to follow suit.
A disgusted Adil branded the league 'elitist', fuming: "It’s disgusting,” Adil replied. "It means teams like Leicester, one of those 'Roy of the Rovers' teams over the last few years would never be in this league.
"It’s disgusting, it’s not football. Football has never been about this."

He continued: "It is about elitism. I think it’s funny Boris Johnson has contributed to the debate because we’re talking about elitism and corruption at the top of government at the moment. I believe this is elitism as well. It’s elitist."
Adil and Susanna were joined via video call by Christopher Pincher, Minister of State for Housing to discuss the new league and discussion then turned to the NHS contracts scandal, after it emerged over the weekend that Matt Hancock and his sister own shares in a firm which won contracts.
Adil blasted: "Why is it that the wealthiest politicians are now also securing these NHS contracts?!
"That is elitism. I can't do that; most people in this country can't do that and it's keeping the poor poorer and the rich richer!"
Picher replied: "The Civil Service doesn't work like that. It makes very careful and considered decisions with a very clear firewall between it and ministerial involvement.
"There was no ministerial involvement in those decisions you referred to."
Susanna replied: "Sorry, but if the system works, how come you set up six enquiries to investigate it?
He responded: "Because, like the law, the system mustn't just be done it must be seen to be done."
Adil shot back: "Hang on, so what you're saying is that as long as it looks like you care about it and it looks like you're going to make an investigation.
"As we've seen time and time again and come on, we've seen this before."
Adil's no nonsense approach to the interview won him praise from viewers at home, with one tweeting: "Well said @adilray was applauding you from my sofa when you said that!! Loving your work."
In agreement, another reacted: " @adilray impressive on @GMB I'd be happy with him as the regular presenting alongside @susannareid100
"Has the intelligence and strength but, without the rudeness of @piersmorgan," and a third posted: "Love Adil, he needs to be a permanent fixture."
