Ranvir Singh was involved in a fiery clash with Justice Minister Robert Buckland over the amber list for travel on GMB this morning.
Ranvir and her co-host Kate Garraway told Mr Buckland that there were 13,000 flights going to amber list countries over the next five days, carrying 270,000 passengers to those areas.
Kate asked why there were so many flights if the government had said not to go amber areas.
Mr Buckland said: "My message is the guidance is there, countries come off colours, what is amber now might not be once the evidence is looked at properly.
"The fact we've got different regimes in place is important, that's how we contain the spread."
Kate said: "They (the 270,000 passengers) can't all have seriously ill family members, have you got the resources to check people are doing the right thing?"
Mr Buckland said: "Police are working hard and we've employed people to knock on doors and check people are adhering to the quarantine, but I think most people can be relied upon to do the right thing."
Ranvir asked Mr Buckland about people who can't afford to self isolate when they get home.
She said: "What do you expect people to do, lose thousands of pounds or think 'who is going to check on me walking the dog'?"
Mr Buckland said: "People should obey the law, as tempting as it could be I urge people to look at support and help that's available its the right thing to do, I use the tone of encouragement, I trust people to do right thing."
Ranvir exploded and said: "What is the point of an amber list, what is the point of dangling this carrot of countries that might or might not be green in two weeks.
"The holiday companies don't know if they should refund people because the government says it's not illegal to go, so they think why should we lose out."
Kate chipped in and said: "There is no clarity or commitment from the government."
Ranvir said: "People have to choose between losing money or breaking the law, frankly it's outrageous."
Mr Buckland said: "Having an amber list is sensible, people don't have to go into a hotel and it does allow for family emergencies or work and at least some essential travel."
Ranvir said: "I think it's a complete neglect of the reality, that you're hiding behind policy."
Ranvir accused Mr Buckland of not answering her question, to which he said: "Well if I could get a word in edgeways."
But Ranvir hit back and said: "Well you've had a full interview, sir."
