GMB presenter Piers Morgan blasts health minister and says he doesn't know anything 'crucial' about coronavirus

Piers Morgan slammed the UK's health minister over coronavirus when he appeared on Good Morning Britain this morning.

Health Minister Edward Argar appeared on the show to talk about the mandatory hotel quarantines, which will be introduced next week.

Mr Argar started by saying he didn't know the percentage of people who obey self-isolation rules upon arrival to the UK.

He said: "I don't have a direct percentage on that, but what I can talk to you about is the enforcement."

At this point, the minister was interrupted by Piers Morgan, who asked him if he reads briefs, to which Mr Argar replied that yes, he did.

The presenter then continued: "You don't seem to know anything about numbers about anything to do with the crucial restrictions of this virus.

"We have a mutation from South Africa that we know is very hazardous, that may have more strength against the vaccine.

"It should be the government's number one priority.

"You don't know how many people are obeying isolation as it is, you have no idea if we even have one hotel that is ready for the enforced quarantine.

"It is not coming in for another week anyway by which time we have let in hundreds of thousands more people.

"I just think you are the health minister, I don't think it is unfair or irrational for us to expect for you to know these answers."

The health minister then said he was seeking to answer the presenters' questions, before being interrupted by Mr Morgan again.

The TV presenter then said they should end the interview at this point but that he was welcome to come back tomorrow with the answers.
