Kate Garraway has hinted her husband Derek Draper won't be home from hospital for Christmas.
Good Morning Britain host Kate has been through a terrible time as her husband Derek continues to recover from coronavirus, after being hospitalised with the virus back in March.
Kate, 53, has found solace in working in her garden during Derek's fight for life and she was inspired to plant something special for Derek to see when he is able to return home.
During an appearance Gardeners’ World the former I'm A Celeb campmate discussed how her gardening projects are influenced by Derek's timeline of recovery - reports Mirror Online.
Kate said: “It was rather sad because the radishes came, they’re one of Derek’s favourites. We ate them and he still wasn’t better.”
Kate then hinted at her husband being back home in the spring, meaning he would miss the festive season.
She said she has planted a number of bulbs now in hopes that they will flower and that “the place will be full of colour” for Derek’s return.
Gardeners know that it is best to plant bulbs preferably by the end of September in order for them to pop up in springtime.
Derek - who Kate shares children Billy and Darcey with - was hospitalised in March after contracting Covid-19
He was later put into an induced coma which lasted 13 weeks - which he woke up from in July but he is still on a long road to recovery and remains in hospital.

Derek's recovery will be a slow process as the virus has "attacked everything", leaving him with clots in his lungs, holes in his heart and making him diabetic, and doctors have warned Kate that Derek might never recover from the damage done to his body.
The devastating news of Derek's condition saw Kate take an extended leave from GMB to be with her family, before defiantly returning to the show in July.
