GMB in epic live blunder as host Kate Garraway gets locked in the toilet

When you’ve gotta go, you’ve gotta go.

But unfortunately for Kate Garraway, thanks to an epic blunder (and the magic of live TV), the whole country was made aware of her toilet habits today.

The ITV host somehow got locked in the loo during a break - and missed a live link on Good Morning Britain.

So of course her co-presenter Ben Shephard couldn’t resist to tell the nation what had happened.

At 7.46am Ben was sat with Susanna Reid ready to do a piece to camera, but instead was baffled at Kate’s disappearing act.

“Are we live? Where is Kate Garraway?”

After being fed some information from the production crew, Bex explained: “Kate went to the toilet and she’s not come back. She’s locked in the door.”

Susanna chipped in “Well we did tell her to lock up when she was going to the loo this morning. That is the message. Has the lock got stuck?”

Ben giggled into his hand as he observed that no one seemed very concerned about Kate’s predicament.

He then looked up as she walked through the door and said: “Oh there you are.”

Susanna added: “Do you want to join us, Kate?”

The 52-year-old apologised as she walked in quickly and was met by Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis, who was preparing to discuss the latest in the Thomas Cook saga.

“I’ll escort her in, it’ll be fine,” he said.

This is the second time today that poor Kate has been the subject of an embarrassing mishap - earlier in the programme Ben revealed all about the time he accidentally saw her boobs.

He admitted he was “transfixed” when he inadvertently saw the TV host topless 20 years ago during a visit to her townhouse.

Ben said: "I was chaining my bike up. It was about lunchtime and Kate had obviously gone home and had a sleep. Then suddenly someone walked into the kitchen and I looked up, and it was Kate.

"She was topless and I kind of stopped and I was just transfixed."

GMB airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
