Some Good Morning Britain viewers have called for an urgent shake up, while others have heralded the hosting line up they believe is the “future” of the show.
Hours after Derek Chauvin was found guilty on all charges for the 2020 murder of George Floyd and all six English Premier League clubs pulled out of the proposed Super League after no end of backlash, Adil Ray and Susanna Reid were back at the helm of the ITV programme for another day.
Earlier this week Adil won the backing of many fans of the show for his handling of a “slippery” MP in respect of the controversial Super League plans and the lobbying scandal over NHS contrasts.
Some talked him up as a full time replacement for Piers Morgan, but others aren’t as impressed, and despite bosses also sticking with Susanna after former co-host Piers’ dramatic departure, others think a rapid overhaul of the show is required.
Replying to a conversation about Adil being praised in Tuesday’s Government briefing for helping increase the uptake of the Covid vaccine in ethnic groups, one far from impressed viewer tweeted: “It’s the only time he was mentioned in a list .. big shake up needed at GMB . New presenters urgently needed”
In agreement, another viewer responded: “ I don’t get why they haven’t shaken up the whole programme, it’s needed.”
A third critic tweeted the show to vent: “this program needs a shake up”
But others are very happy with the way things are going and, despite reports that Ben Shepherd will eventually be the person to fill Piers’ vacant seat, they want Adil and Susanna’s partnership to stay.
Tweeting Adil, one big fan told him: “Adil, You are the future of @GMB it’s so comfortable watching & Listening to your presenting of the program.”
And, sharing those sentiments, a second reacted: "...always look forward to seeing Adil Ray hosting along with Kate or Susanna. Adil should take over the role permanently from the previous host.
"Ben Shephard is hosting too many shows on TV, so it should be given to Adil.
A third posted: "Love the Adil and Susanna duo."
