GMB host reveals she was 'hatfished' by Phil Mitchell look-alike who wanted hair like Brad Pitt

Good Morning Britain host revealed how she ended up in an awkward date with a "Phil Mitchell" lookalike who wanted hair like Brad Pitt.

During a segment on the show which was delving into the current trend of 'wokefishing', where a person lies about their true beliefs to agree with the person they're dating, Ranvir revealed she fell foul to someone who 'hatfished' her.

Ranvir believed it was a typo on her prompter when she saw the word 'hatfishing' but was later told it was a trend, set by men who were bald or had receding hairlines and wore hats to cover up their hair.

It dawned on Ranvir soon after that she was actually 'hatfished' "years and years and years ago":

"There was this chap and I was sort of doing the whole online dating thing and I think he must have had a cap on in the picture, but I can't remember.

"Anyway, he turned up on our first date, wearing this cap.

"Half way through, he kind of took it off and he did have a receding hairline.

"Anyway, he was talking about his hair and he said, 'Oh, I'm thinking about getting my hair cut like Brad Pitt', but I said, 'Well you don't look anything like Brad Pitt!'

"And he went, 'Well you don't look like Cameron Diaz either!', and I said, 'You look more like Phil Mitchell!'

"I quite like Phil Mitchell, anyway, the date just went horribly wrong.

"But to me, that was the fact he had this receding hairline that I didn't know anything about, so I kind of reacted instinctively."

Good Morning Britain returns at 6am every weekday morning on ITV.
