GMB host Piers Morgan outrages Twitter after flaunting 'obscene' Bollinger bar tab

Piers Morgan has kicked up a storm after bragging he forked out thousands of pounds on booze at his Christmas bash.

Good Morning Britain host Piers, 54, invited showbiz pals to the do at The Scarsdale Tavern in London's swanky Kensington.

In attendance were well known names including co-host Susanna Reid, Kate Garraway, Charlotte Hawkins, Holly Willoughby and Christine Lampard.

And Piers revealed on Twitter he splurged £4,200 on 60 bottles of Bollinger champagne alone, Manchester Evening News reports.

He tweeted to cricket star Kevin Pietersen, alongside a picture of the receipt: "Morning Kevin @KP24 I asked them to serve only YOU Prosecco, the rest of us had Bollinger..."

The extravagant boast has not gone down to well with some of Piers' followers.

"It's fine being wealthy but this rubbing your viewers noses in it," one annoyed follower responded.

Another said: "I honestly can't believe you've posted this."

"Parents are desperately scraping together money to give their children a decent Christmas? It's vulgar. Some stuff should be kept off Twitter," raged a third.

'Obscene'

Someone else simply said: "obscene."

As far as we can tell, though, Piers and his pals had a great time.

Piers also shared a selfie with his work pal Susanna, adding: "I got The Grinch partying again! After she gave up the booze."
