GMB guest told off by 'angry' Susanna Reid after branding absent Piers Morgan a 'troll'

Susanna Reid told off a guest on Good Morning Britain after she branded absent Piers Morgan "one of the biggest trolls" against Meghan Markle.

This comes after a new explosive teaser clip of Meghan's interview with Oprah Winfrey sees her accuse the royals of "perpetuating falsehoods".

Ayesha Hazarika appeared on the ITV programme alongside the Mirror's Kevin Maguire and the Mail's Andrew Pierce to speak about Meghan's comments about 'The Firm'.

But the conversation shifted when Ayesha brought Piers into the conversation and branded him a "very powerful person with a big, big platform".

Expressing sympathy for Meghan, Ayesha said: "I think she has had a hideous, hideous time and I think sections of the press don't some out well and I don't think the palace comes out well."

Susanna's co-star Ben Shephard asked: "What about Meghan and Harry themselves, Ayesha? How do you think she will come out of this? Because the vast majority have very little sympathy for her."

Ayesha fumed: "Well, of course they don't have sympathy for her! No offence to your colleague who isn't here, Piers Morgan, but he's one of the biggest trolls against her.

"I mean, she's literally responsible for everything. I did a tweet yesterday to say, 'Oh my goodness, I can't believe she's had time to kill Khashoggi while wearing the wrong nail varnish' and the responses were hilarious. This woman has been held responsible for everything-"

Susanna interrupted: "Hang on, Ayesha. I mean, if you're going to reference someone who's not here, we need to be a little bit careful. You describe him as a troll - he has his criticisms but he can answer for himself. He has his criticisms for Meghan.

"But just on that point, you're talking about the story that she wore earrings that were gifted to her by Mohammed bin Salman, the crown prince of Saudi Arabia, and you were saying that people were therefore accusing her of being directly responsible. I mean, that's entirely a glib accusation.

"And I'll tell you why just from my perspective - and I defend her, I defend anyone who's had a bad time and their right to speak about it. But she's been campaigning for human rights and women's rights in Saudi Arabia and therefore it seemed odd - and I posed the question yesterday - why you would then accept a gift from someone from a country where you have a problem with the way that they treat people. It just would have been simpler not to accept it! Or definitely not to have worn it publicly."

"Well, the chance of her knowing that those earrings of coming from her are quite slim," Ayesha pointed out. "I'm sorry, the person who is not here today is a very powerful person, he's got a big, big platform. He gets so much hate it is off the scale."

Ben attempted to change the subject, saying: "Yes, OK, alright Ayesha."

And viewers found the moment hilariously awkward, with one tweeting: "#gmb Hahaha! "No offence, but he's (Piers Morgan) been one of the biggest trolls." OMG, I'm still wiping the coffee off my bed!"

While another commented: "@susannareid100 @piersmorgan Loving Susanna sticking up for Piers being called a troll on GMB #gotyourback #gmb."
