GMB fans switch off as 'irritated' Piers and Ranvir constantly interrupt each other

Irritated viewers were forced to "switch off" Good Morning Britain today after presenters Piers Morgan and Ranvir Singh continued to interrupt one another during an interview with the Chief Secretary to the Treasury.

GMB fans branded the interview a "shambles" after the pair continued to cut one another off and talk over each other in a number of incredibly awkward moments.

Following the government's £330billion package announcement, Ranvir questioned Stephen Barclay on whether the measures had gone far enough.

Barclay replied by saying that, throughout, they had followed the medical advice, saying: "We need to take the right measure at the right time."

He added: "Part of that was the financial measures... the best economic response is to [help people] keep their jobs."

However Ranvir questioned whether that would just ensure that businesses fall into debt.

"It's a combination, it's flexibility and support," he insisted. "The key issue with the loans is to provide a bridge."

Piers interjected, demanding: "We need clarity and you need decisiveness from the government."

He pointed out that Boris Johnson's own father Stanley admitted on This Morning he would go to the pub, despite government advice to avoid them.

However the interview quickly descended into chaos when Piers and Ranvir continued to talk over one another.

Susanna Reid joined in on the chat on FaceTime (ITV)

Annoyed fans flocked to Twitter to comment, with one tweeting: "You can see the frustration in Ranvir’s face this morning because #piersmorgan won’t let her get a word in edgewise FFS Piers, you don’t need to be the centre of the Universe every morning #GMB."

While another commented: "I feel sorry for Ranvir Singh this morning... being sat next to Piers who is frantic and rudely cutting her off. She’s holding her own and doing well. But I think she’ll need a lie down in a dark room after this mornings programme #GMB."

A third fumed: "Shut up Ranvir!! Even Piers is listening #GMB."
