GMB fans fume that Christmas is 'ruined' after realising programme isn't live

Good Morning Britain viewers were left unimpressed after realising Good Morning Britain's Christmas Day special wasn't live today.

Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid were back in the studio, complete with a penguin jumper and glittery red dress.

But it was a different show today as the pair interviewed 'Mrs Claus' instead of grilling a government minister.

And while they spoke to interviewees, suggesting that it was 'Christmas Day', fans spotted that they were pre-recorded interviews - particularly when speaking with the nurses atStockton-on-Tees.

Viewers noticed that it was dark during the interview, despite it being light outside, with one tweeting: "Can't even fool the viewers with the recorded version #gmb."

While another pointed out: "It's a recorded version it's dark there and it's day light outside nowFace with tears of joyFace with tears of joy #gmb."

A third wrote: "So it’s not really live then."

Another fan was particularly angry, writing: "10 minutes in and no mention from @piersmorgan about the #EU Trade Deal So this is PRE-RECORDED #GMB FAKE PROGRAMME."

(ITV)

"We thought that #GMB was going to be a #Live show on #Christmas day, but clearly it isn’t. I wonder how many have been duped. If it was live @piersmorgan would’ve expressed his views on the # Brexit deal that was finally done yesterday. It’s just a series of pre-recorded clips," one fumed.

Another asked: "Is this pre-recorded?"

One quipped: "Not as interesting when its not live #GMB."

*Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV
