GMB doctor Sarah Jarvis issues urgent warning over cold bed sheets hack

TV Doctor Sarah Jarvis has issued an urgent earning on a common hack people use to cool their bedsheets down to try and get a good night's sleep in the summer.

With muggy conditions set to be the norm across much of the UK this week, many people will struggle to get to sleep as their bedrooms feel more like furnaces.

But Good Morning Britain health expert has urged caution over something fed up people do to try and combat the heat.

Her earning came after GMB host Kate Garraway had made an admission to something she does to make night time more bearable.

Kate confessed: "I tried the whole dipping your bed sheet in water, it does work a bit but then you get too chilly."

She also told Dr Sarah that Kate she'd also tried filling a hot water bottle with cold water and then putting it in the freezer.

After listening to Kate, Dr Sarah responded: "We don't want to have a really cold shower. If you have a cool shower and then allow the water to evaporate off your skin... it will definitely help cool you down."

Regarding bed sheers she then added: "They stole my idea about the cold hot water bottles, but please don't forget; never put ice directly onto your skin because that can cause ice burns.

"But a cool flannel around your neck, and possibly putting sheets in the freezer, but not again risking any ice burns, can help."
