GMB branded ‘mean’ after Child Genius star Rahul endures 'tricky' test

Good Morning Britain viewers have branded the show ‘mean’ after a Child Genuis star was given ‘tricky’ words to spell against Richard Arnold.

Rahul Doshi, 14, went up against presenter Richard, 50, during a live spelling bee on the show.

However, some fans called the show out for giving Rahul ‘difficult’ and ‘obscure’ words in the quiz.

And even host Kate Garraway said: “I think we’ve given Richard some easy ones.”

While Richard was asked to spell eczema and palaver, Rahul was given chihuahua and viridescent.

After Rahul struggled to spell chihuahua, Richard claimed that he would have got that one.

And viewers have called for a ‘fair’ re-match between the pair after the quiz.

One said: "Come on guys!!! That spelling test was a bit unfair. Richard’s were so much easier!!!! Let’s have a fair re-run.”

Another viewer said: “Was that a joke spelling bee? Richard Arnold's words were much easier! If that wasn't a joke (on Richard) I will complain to television standards because that's kind of mean.”

A third said: “You meanies! Giving Richard Arnold everyday words to spell, but Child Genius Rahul obscure words! Not fair!”

And another fan accused the show of ‘stitching’ Rahul up, saying: “Stitching up the poor kid on GMB with more difficult spelling.”
