GMB Alex Beresford's response to unvaccinated Covid patient who told him to 'man up'

Alex Beresford has responded to a man who claimed to be "unvaccinated and proud" despite being seriously ill with coronavirus.

The Good Morning Britain weatherman and presenter is currently ill with COVID himself, and told fans this morning (Tuesday, November 30) that he had been in bed since last week.

In response, one Twitter user appeared to boast about the severity of his own coronavirus symptoms, telling Alex to "man up".

The tweet read: "Man up! My 4th day in hospital after 8 days in bed with flu symptoms. 6 days not eating but drinking lots of water.

"Septic shock, low blood sugar and critically low oxygen, deaths door. I'm out on Thursday. Unvaccinated and proud."

Bristol celebrity Alex has now shared a kind-worded reply, politely telling him to feel grateful that the NHS has helped him to survive.

The weatherman wrote: "Michael I’m genuinely glad to hear you’re going to pull through and that our NHS kept you from dying.

"Yes I’m vaccinated. It was my choice. You also made yours. Think yourself incredibly lucky you’re going to get to tell the tale. Rest up."

When he told fans he had contracted the virus, Alex admitted that he had let precautionary measures slip in the past couple of weeks, and he had been more relaxed about wearing a mask and frequent hand-washing.

He added: "I wouldn’t like to imagine how much worse I would be had I not had the vaccine."

Many people have commended him for reminding people that the virus is very much still in circulation, and not to get complacent.
